Description
The PinePhone Pro is the fastest mainline-based Linux smartphone on the market. Powered by a RK3399S SoC with two snappy 1.5GHz A72 cores and four efficient 1.5GHz A53 cores, it is a powerful pocket computer and phone in one. Remaining spec’s are a significant upgrade from the original PinePhone as well: 128GB flash storage, 4GB LPDDR RAM, a high quality 13MP Sony image sensor and an in-cell 1440×720 IPS panel with Gorilla Glass 4™. We simultaneously retained the best features of the original design, such as: the privacy hardware switches, pogo pins compatible with the keyboard and add-on cases, and the global band EG25-G modem.
While in the future the PinePhone Pro will be able to serve as your daily-driver smartphone, at present the PinePhone Pro should be considered a development platform. The optional pre-installed operational systems: Manjaro, postmarketOS and Mobian are all in early stages of development. The Explorer Edition production has been created specifically made for developers and early adopters.
The PinePhone Pro can run Android apps via a compatibility layer, but in all likelihood your banking or travel apps will not function fully or at all.
